The Competence Centre for Genomic Analysis
High-throughput genomics is a key technology for understanding the individuality of disease processes. For 15 years, the platform for high-throughput sequencing has been a core element of scientific innovation in medicine for Schleswig-Holstein, which has a clear impact on patient care (e.g. routine sequencing in the context of the COVID19 pandemic). Precision Health in Schleswig-Holstein (PHSH) defines the Competence Center for Genomic Analysis (CCGA) as a critical infrastructure in the future development of the cross-location excellence strategy. In 2018, the platform was selected as one of the four sites for the DFG's national sequencing infrastructure in a competitive process. Scientists from Kiel University, the University of Lübeck, the Research Center Borstel and the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Biology in Plön are involved in the platform.
