Infectious disease research infrastructure

The COVID-19 pandemic has generated significant interest in experimental COVID-19 models among various research groups at the Research Center Borstel, the University of Lübeck, and Kiel University. The anticipated expansion of the field of infection medicine and microbiology at these sites will require access to expanded safety level 3 (L3/S3) laboratory infrastructures. Currently, this demand cannot be met in Schleswig-Holstein, either now or in the coming years. PHSH is therefore committed to support the further development and bundling of L3/S3 capacities, and the implementation of analytical equipment infrastructures that are relevant to L3/S3 research.
