What is Precision Health in Schleswig-Holstein?

Precision Health in Schleswig-Holstein is a governance structure at the interface between the University Hospital Schleswig-Holstein (UKSH), the Kiel University (CAU) and the University of Lübeck (UzL) whose mission is to strengthen clinical and translational research projects in precision medicine.

There is a clear need for the sustainable development of academic medicine, which applies beyond Schleswig-Holstein. Research in the field of precision medicine is characterized by a tension between the profitability of a maximum care provider, the university hospital, and the highly competitive and cost-intensive field of translational research.
